“Voodoo Spell”: Smoke Spider’s Hauntingly Brilliant Rock Album
Smoke Spider’s ‘Voodoo Spell’ has rock-solid ten tracks with perfect rhythm and melodies. The duo of Gothenburg Göran Florström and Johan Granat either makes up new songs or remakes old ones. Despite the practice that every single piece sounds distinctive, all tracks blend. This album starts with “Under a Curse” starts the composition with the dull power, of stale guitar over a roar. Along with a scream, this one also cuts into the song. One feels as if they are in an absolute nightmare that presents with extreme emotions.
“Nervous (Album Version)”, on the other hand, is composed of fantastic melodies where there is a thick and powerful sound, soothing anxiety in a kinder sense unlike before. “The Biggest Love” is later on wherein they have more feeling as love blossoms into the couple and their true voices are felt in the lyrics. “Spider Eyes” is pretty quick and intense with a sense of the disturbing and creepy feeling around it which is like a never-ending suspense scream. “Desolation (Remastered)” features an unsettling environment and even shinner production which bears the emotion of the piece more strongly. “Supersonic Life” is on a whole different level of a rockstyle. Loud, Fast, and Quite Enchanting. “Evil Eye (Album Version)” is on a dark and heavy note, whilst East Berlin (Remastered) is certainly based around nostalgia but with a fresh feel to it.
“Linger in My Memory (Remastered)” is a matter of emotional shelter after heavy sequential hits. “The Damage Is Done (Remastered)” closes the chapter with an explosive and compelling fury. A remarkable debut that combines the mystery of unapologetic sultry rock with the tenderness of a voodoo incantation. It is worth checking out for those who appreciate strong guitar and creative songwriting.
